My brother and I went out to put up a blind on one of our back ridges and brush it in today.  On the way there, about 600 yds away, we drove up on a big group of 5 gobblers.  All big long beards.  My brother has seen them 2 other times near there also so I'm hoping they're roosting close by.

Do yall think those are probably a group of 2 year old birds?

Either way I plan on busting some heads in about 6 days.

Hard to say on age, but sounds like you are sitting good to start us off. :anim_25:

There's only one way to find out!! Just think, you could be the first Red Dawn Spooker to shoot one older than a 2 year old!!!!

;D Don't make me break out my pics. My 67 last year was probably a 4 year old. However, a 2 year old comes in, he's toast. A bird in hand is better than tag soup. :icon_thumright:

And Dont make me Brake out my 3 year old I got a two years ago. And just wait till I get lucky on this 4 year old I keep seeing. That bird will put RDR on top of the game!!!

Probably a mix of ages, but telling that they haven't broken up yet.  Still a few weeks out from breeding from what I can tell here in AR.  I was at the lease yesterday and didn't see any sign and the turks still haven't moved in from their winter range in the National Forest yet.  I did go to a spot where a big fella eluded me last year and got an idea of how his day goes and where he roosts.  Now if he just made it through the winter and decides to come back to that area I'm in business.  If not, I'll find another one elsewhere.

Well those particular birds haven't broken up yet, but there is one hoss bird that I've seen by himself strutting last week with some hens.

That's the one that I need to take down.    :z-winnersmiley:
