Work today
March 08, 2013, 05:20:54 PM
Had to work in the hills today. There were turkeys everywhere. I had to stop at one flock and take a few pictures. There were gobblers breeding hens, courting hens and just strutting everywhere. I probably saw 30 longbeards just in one 15 minute drive. One the way back home I stopped and asked the owner of one place if I could come back and bring my video camera and take some footage. She said no problem. She said 4 years ago there was a gobbler and 3 hens show up. Now there is a flock of 60 birds. I counted 9 longbeards just in one spot. Tomorrow should be fun. Here are a few pics from today.

Played golf yesterday afternoon. I threw my mouth call in my bag as I always see turkeys on the back nine. Standing on the 13th tee box when i saw several turkeys about 200 yards down just off the fairway. Grabed my call (hooks) and gave a few yelps. 3 longbeards answers with a gobbles and started strutting. It was funny watching the foursome on the green turn around to see what the heck was going on.

BTW After I asked her if I could video she said "I thought you were going to ask to hunt". Then I told her that I was a hunter and that I had my own turkey call company and she asked about getting a call for her husband and son. I am in like flinn.
