Hevi Shot choke differences

Hey guys.  Emailed HS with no luck.  Wondering if anyone knows the differences in their turkey choked.  I check through advertisements and see some with circular porting and some with long ports like a Jellyhead.  Is one newer of better than the other?  Any benefit to one porting style or the other?

I think the internal geometry as Clark likes to call it has more to do with the way a particular choke will shoot vs another.  How long of conical and how long of parallel for instance plays a huge factor.  That's another reason why I typically like longer chokes than shorter ones.  But I do think a ported choke typically will shoot better han a non-poted choke from my findings.  But there are instances where that may not hold true.  Typically I tell anyone the best way to know for sure how a choke will shoot in your barrel from a particular load is to shoot it.  And by shooting it you ought to know after the very first shot if it's a winning combination.  But shooting more will just tend to show how consistent the choke and load is.  I have seen ported hole chokes out perform slotted chokes and vice versa.

The Hevi-Shot chokes have round holes within flutes. There were some very early H.S. chokes that had fluted ports but those never really made it to the market.

Ports can have a few different intended functions. It really all depends on how the choke is designed and as previously stated, the "internal geometry" of the choke tube.

All of the new HEVI chokes have the round ports, you may have also seen a picuture of the Dead Coyote choke tube that has the spiral cuts in the choke to help with installation.

I think where the confusion is coming from is place's like cabela's web site that show 2 different style choke ports for the turkey choke's. Granted one is for a Remingtion and the other is for a Benelli.

Just purchased the Hevi Shot Choke for the Benelli Crio M2 at Cabelas yesterday.  The holes are round but it has fluted grooves.  There is is a hole in the middle of every other groove not every groove.  Hope that makes sense.  Here is a pic.
