W/W Super X turkey pump gun??

As a lover/owner/user of the original WW 1300 NWTF I was wondering after a year of waiting has anyone out there tried/used/shot one??? I haven't seen or heard or read a single write up or test of one and on this site I find that very amazing... WELL someone give it up!!

I have 3 super x pumps in our safe; 2 of them are 26" bbl. guns in the black finish with 3" chamber; the other is the turkey model in mossy oak infinity camo. They have some great features, Invector plus bore to begin, chrome lined bbl. and chamber, All of them shoot incredible patterns with lead,hevi, and steel for waterfowl. The action is very smooth and fast, its light and well balanced. I dont think anyone would be dissapointed with it after shooting and handling one.

I see that you have had a reply to your post from James. You are right however that comments about those guns have been very few and far between. Winchester launched that gun originally as the "Speed Pump" but it never made it to dealer shelves. I was able to shoot one of the pre-production guns at the Grand and if you liked the 1300s you'd probably have liked it.

They changed the stock & forend to make it look more like the SX3 and renamed it the Super X Pump. Then it took them a while to get them in the stores as can be the case many times. Then shortly after that gun was available, they announced that they were coming out with a 3.5" chambered version. That kind of put the brakes on the sales of the 3" guns.

I think it's a good gun and it's certainly very reasonably priced. The Invector+ barrel is an excellent feature. It's quick and if you like the way that action works, you should like the new gun as well as the older ones.

It's always good to hear from someone who owns and shoots one and James owns 3 of them, so he should be the man to listen to on those guns.

I have acquired one recently and attempted to make myself a turkey slayer out of it. Mine is a 1300 speed pump made in the usa. I dont know how old it is but it has a 30th anniversary nwtf medallion inlaid on the stock. It has a 28 inch barrel and looks like a walnut stock. I put a ssx choke in it but have only had time to shoot a few copper coated lead #5s through it and wasnt real impressed. It did great at 20 yds but 40 was scattered all over the place. I think i need to downsize my shot size for that tighter choke. I still have a few months to get her tuned in though. Not to hijack your thread but any input on my gun would be appreciated as well.

First of all, you have an excellent shotgun. I believe your gun was produced in 2002-2003 for the 30th anniversary of the NWTF. Those guns have become very sought-after in the last few years and many current owners would never part with them.

You are correct in my experience in that you'll get much better patterns with #6 shot through your SSX turkey choke. I have a 1300 and see some excellent patterns with lead and Hevi-13 shells with that same choke tube. I would of course recommend that you "deep clean" the bore. I'm sure by spring you'll be ready to go.

Again, congratulations on your new gun. It can be a real winner.
