After much deliberation and arguing with myself, have decided to go back to lead. Another reason is that I've been talking to Clark, "allaboutshooting", and he has introduced me to a new lead load called "White Lightening". Being a man of his word, I have embarked on a 11-87 project that will be shooting the
"White Lightening" loads. As I am recovering from a heart attack on 8-8-12, it's gonna take me a bit of time to put it all together and show the results. More to follow...

I promise you that if I didn't still have about 4 or 5 dozen rounds of 3" HTL, I'd have already switched back to Lead. 

Either:

1.75 Oz. #5

1.875 Oz. #6

2 Oz. #6

1.875 Oz. #4x6x7.5

1.875 Oz. #4x5x6x7.5

In my 870, either .655 or .665 works best with these loads, on a load by load basis.

In my BPS, .665 seems to work well with all of them.

The white lightning load is nickel plated "large"#6 shot in a 3 "-1 5/8 oz. load that is sold in a box of 10 for only $22.50 per box. ONLY $22.50.
They are roll crimped and supposedly precision loaded so they are still less than HTL will be but not carrying the payload of most HTL shells either.
Supposedly 354 pellets per shell @ 1200 fps in a shell color like the old whites.They also have waterfowl loads and precision target loads that are pricey to me.

Look em up on White Lightning Shotshells. They have color coded shot for waterfowl  that have no relevance to me. The turkey loads will have to shine to overtake the Winchester HV and Supreme red shell to get $2.50 per shell @ 1 5/8 oz. load.

I have some Hevi 13 1 5/8 #6 I would sell for $2.50 per shell TYD the only catch is I want to sell all of them due to legally shipping them I have to box them and take them to a UPS hub to ship. Its not worth the risk to throw them in a priority mail flat rate box and ship USPS like some do.

Oh heck no.  That would be asking for trouble.  I wouldn't do that period.  Do you know what's going to happen if someone gets caught doing that?

That is some sharp math but if you add tax, pay shipping, etc. it comes to a lot more than $2.25 or the $2.50 I suggested. 12 boxes of slugs @ 3.99 per box ran a $16+ dollars S&H alone last order. So, the $3.99 bargain became about a $5.35 per box price. Still cheaper than driving much distance.

He was in the loop with the R&D on the White Lightenings and told me that they are superior to any lead load currently on the market. Considering his experience and depth of knowledge on scatterguns, I'd say that's saying something! Good enough for me to take the plunge for a few boxes and a choke tube...

I could not imagine Clark beating his own drum.   At the price they are charging for these shells they should be superior to all lead products. Now it will be up to marketing to get sales going. Perhaps they will come up with what choke / gun combos work best for these shells as a starter.

I do not remember if it was for a 2 3/4,3" or what or if it mattered. The 1200 fps may be another contributor to the pattern but it will be pretty strong recoil even at 1 5/8 oz. load.

Just a reminder that 1 5/8 Ounce patterns with Hevi 13 were pitiful compared to 1 3/4 Ounce, 2 Ounce, or 2 1/4 Ounce patterns.

However, I hope this new Lead load smokes the 10" circle.
