Del has it right, but it only happened a couple of years ago.  One of the guys present ran a thread on it right after it happened, and people lifted the picture and started circulating it in email.  Then all the LIARS took hold of it and started making up all kinds of stories including lies about where it was killed.

There was a story about this snake printed in the GON magazine a year or so ago. I think it really was killed in Georgia.
