Most of those regulations were put in place when everyone was shooting lead. HTL changes everything and many states have not made adjustments. That said, I killed some turkeys with 7.5 lead.

shot size no larger than #4 or smaller than #7½ are legal.
No trees were hurt in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were highly inconvenienced.

Georgia allows shotguns with #2 or smaller shot and any muzzleloading frearm. Muzzleloading firearms include smoothbore shotguns, muskets, scoped rifles and cap & ball revolvers. So, we can hit them with practically any size projectile we wish. I find a couple ounces of lead #6s to be the most practical option.
