eclipse shotshells

Any info on these things they were in a tote i bought for 50 bucks with about 1000 rounds of other ammo

They weren't the same, but years ago I shot at skeet shoot that was using an all blue hull for their house ammo. I think they were called Active. They were sold in a grey box with blue strips on it. That's the only thing close to what you have that I've seen. If I were you I'd soak it in a bucket of water for a couple weeks and throw away.

I have seen them before. If I remember correctly they are a very hot load. Extremely high dram # and are misty used as pheasant loads. I could be completely wrong but this is what I remember about them.

That's what I was thinking too. I had some of those years ago. Best hull I had to reload. Wish I could find more of them.

They are all plastic and are identical to the activ shells but on the primer end it says eclipse

Why would you throw a good shotshell away?? Im sure i can kill something with it.

I guess I'm overly worried about an accident. To me shells are too cheap to risk firing one that I'm not 100% sure of what it is or where it may have come from. I have no doubt that you could kill something with it, but it might be your gun, eyes, or worse.

I can see the shot inside one of the crimps it looks to be lead 6s or 7-1/2

Looks just like an Activ shotshell.    I have bucket full of similar empty hulls.    They shoot great, and are some of the easiest reloading shells besides Winchester AA hulls.

I don't think it would be a problem to shoot at all. The Eclipse Cartridge Company was sold in 1985. Eventhough that shell is at least 25 yrs old, I have shot older paper hull shells before with no issue.
