I've been drawn for 3 early season WMA hunts.

So I went back in to do battle with my worthy opponent Saturday.........with my 20 Gauge.

I set up just a little closer, used a stake blind, and faced away from the turkey that I believed had circled and come in behind me in the past.

He gobbled before I could get the chalk on my box call.  He gobbled 6 more times that morning in response to my box call, but wouldn't leave the hens he already had.

I got up and tried to circle around him to set up again, and I bumped into 3 members of the flock, because I was watching the ground for snakes.  I set up and called again, but no luck.

My season is over, and I struck out.
