First bird ever!  Called him in at first light this morning to within about 30 yards.  10.5 " beard, 1.25" right spur.  As you can see in the picture, his left spur has been recently chipped. Looks like he has been fighting.

I was actually walking to another area to set up along a fence line when he gobbled at a crow and stopped me in my tracks.  I found a good spot to set up and started calling him in.  Man, what a great feeling to have it all come together and to get a great shot on a bird!

Congrats, now youre a veteran!
That ol' tom's already dead. He just don't know it yet .... The hard part is convincing him.

Are you REALLY working that gobbler, or is HE working YOU?

captin_hook

That's a great feeling huh, and for your first bird to be a giant makes it even better. Now you just set the bar very high for yourself, Congrats.

Congrats.  That's a really good photo.

Thanks Ceejay!  The pics were taken by a good friend of mine (also on this forum), HuntSource.  He has been the one who has gotten me into the turkey hunting business! It is great to have good friends to hunt with.
