It's Finally Here

Well guys, after a long wait I finally get a chance at hitting the woods in the morning. My Dad has decided to go so I will be trying to help him out and with any luck I'll get a chance at a bird as well. Few nice birds hanging around and a possible double beard has been showing himself. Hens seem to be a little less vocal the last few days so maybe the gobblers will be interested in playing.

Hey there Ont, give em' heck!  Wish you the best of luck and bet you're excited to finally be able to go after the birds after sitting and listening to the rest of us describe our hunts.

Locked horns with a gobbler this evening. Couldn't resist the new copper call I purchased. His condiments are 24 lb 2 oz, 9 7/8  beard and 1 1/4 spurs. I think these numbers are correct as it been a long day chasing gobblers. I post pics up hopefully tommorrow. Working on getting old two beards in the morning.

Gave #2 bird a dirt sleep this morning. Thought it was old double beard when I seen him coming but after close inspection realized he is missing some pieces of his beard. Looked like him coming in but no difference. He will not be an upgrade but I think he will score OK.
To make me go Hmmmmm, double beard was walking around in the next field on my way out. Going to get after him for the daughter. Post my pics up later in the day I hope.
