CA 2012 Turkey season day #1 Double

Joey and I had a great opening day with a double. These birds flew into our lap right off the roost. It didn't take long before it was right for a double. Have you ever had one of those hunts that worked out just like you had imagined it in your dreams the night before the hunt? This one did. We had planned to count to 3 and shoot at the same time. Worked like a charm.

We are always getting different colors in our tailfans. Most of the tail coverts and tips of the back feathers are pretty much Rio's.

You must have gotten your birds first thing.

My wife started her bike ride at 8:30am and it started raining at 8:31am.

Been raining ever since.

Hoping to get out for a few hours tomorrow.
