So that is why they make snake boots for turkey hunting.... Here in WI I was thinking that was to allow you to tromp thru the marsh w/o putting on hip boots. Great job!
Question, to those who know how to age a turkey. How do you tell age.... My first bird I was told was a 4.5 year old with 1-3/8 spurs and 11-1/4 beard. I forgot to ask how to tell age I was just thinking it was a good size one and a Tom so Bang at 20 yrds then my boss asked me to tell him the measurements over the phone and told me I had just out shot him on turkey hunting on my first outing (he has been turkey hunting in VA for a long time). DNR stated the aprox. age. Would like to know if it is based on measurements, or? Deer I know it is based on teeth and grind marks but not sure on turkeys.
