Son's first turkey
March 12, 2012, 09:11:17 AM
My son killed his first bird Sunday morning. It had been a slow weekend up till 10 o'clock. We struck our first gobble of the day and 10 minutes later we had three nice toms coming in. We got to see them all gobble and even watch one of the other birds attack his bird floping in the road. The bird had a thick 9" beard, 15/16" & 1" spurs and weighed about 19 - 20 pounds.

Cannot say Congratulations enough! Paint brush for a beard.

That's what I'm talking about. Congrats.
Turkeys are as smart as hunters make em and public land offers more classes.

Congrats to you and your son.. That is a big butt gobbler, for sure. The smile says it all. He is grinnin' like a donkey eatin' thistles!! Way to go...
