High altitude Merriam Hunt

I've been toying around with the notion for a couple years now of going on a high-altititude Merriam hunt somewhere in their native range.  New Mexico, Arizona or Colorado would be candidates.  I'm honestly not sure what their native range is but I'm pretty sure those three states are included in it.
Any of you guys have any experience with a good outfitter on a hunt like this?  I usually like to do it myself but I'd probably want a little guidance the first time I tried to find birds and hunt in that big country.

Try New Mexico, also the Pine Ridge area of Nebraska is not high altitude but hunts like an Alpine environment.

the Merriam's live out my back door in Arizona.  fun bird to hunt but it helps to get acclimated first.

If you're looking for an outfitter try Backcoluntry  Outfitters Inc. in Pagosa Springs, CO.  They have a great horseback trip for Merriams in some gorgeous country.  The horseback trip and scenery is awesome.

Pagosa is a beautiful place.  The Pine Ridge is beautiful and a favorite of mine but its far from high altitude

The Pine Ridge is a special place. I killed a nice Muley up there as well. Let's quit talking about it. Don't want too many people to figure it out.

That ship sailed about 5 years ago.  There are few "secret spots" anymore.  Forums like this (as good as it is) are one reason.  The TV guys the other.
