Nitro's vs Hevi-13? I have shot Nitro's for the past few years and love them

 but I picked up some Hevi-13 magnum blends tonight because I got my order in late to Nitro this year.  I shoot the Nitro 3  1/2  4x5x7's    How good are the Hevi-13's and what kind of patterns should I expect out of my 24' supernova with  a Jellyhead?   Nitro's performance speak for themself but if the H13's are close I could see switching just for availability purposes.

One thing I forgot to ask.   Is the #7 shot a lot better than the mag blend?  I notice a lot of you are going to #7.

I haven't shot the Nitros but for me the mag blends don't come close to the 7s...I shoot a Browning Silver with a IC 675...3 1/2, 2 1/4 oz. 7s...The Mag blend pattern at 40 was very spotty. the 7s was a great  pattern but I have yet to pattern either at closer ranges...Plan to do so this week...But as far as the question, for me the 7s out do the Mag Blends by far...

Yes.  You will get way better pattern densities with the straight 7's.  That's why I like them.  I beleive the 7's are the best factory load currently on the market for putting up the best numbers.

thanks guys,  they didn't have any 7's but I could order some.   Do you think that the #7 Hevi's would compare  to the the triplex Nitro's?

I bet they will be pretty close.  I've seen several people on here break 300 with Hevi 7s.  My 26" Nova with a jellyhead will do about 275 with them.  I think drum shoots a Nova with a 24" barrel and Indian Creek tube and he gets outstanding patterns with the Hevi 7s.

The straight 7s shoot alot better for me.

The 7's are AWESOME, but the 6's smoke too.  Very good products for the money, but I hope the prices don't go up any higher than they already are.  H13's advantages over Nitros are greater availability and lower prices.  The 6's are always pretty easy to find.  However, the 7's aren't stocked everywhere you find the 6's.  I wish this would change.  I'm tired of seeing H13 4's and 5's on store shelves.

I ordered mine yesterday they sent me a email saying they are on the way. Thanks for the link never would of thought of midsouth for these shells.

i think that the hevi 13 7's are gonna put a hurtin on Nitros this year and in the future, a box of 5 for $20 - $5 rebate comes down to 3 bucks a shell. Nitros are at least 2x as much per shell and you dont have to wait 3 months like you do for the Nitros.  With the 7's most people can get 200 in the 10" all day with the Hevi 13's at 40yds

sure you can get the nitros and put 300 in the 10" ring but all you need is 100 in the 10 to consistently kill turks and the hevi 13 already gets double the minimum and are half the price, you do the math!!!!!!

I agree.  For the money the Hevi-13 #7 loads are the better value
