Took Cutter out today.  Came across Flock of birds across a hollow That were just  Yaking  up a storm. I called to them with a new trumpet i got last month, and they seemed to like it. There was a couple of hens that really fired back. Cutter didn't understand why we wasn't headed over there. On our way back to the car we crossed a small field on a top of a hill and spotted five longbeards feeding . A good day for as bad as the weather was.

Guys I finally got a chance to get out to do some scouting today. My kids play travel ball so I have been on the go lately. A cool front moved in so it was very cold and windy not ideal conditions but saw some good signs. I'm ready I don't think the cool weather is going to stay long come on MARCH 15TH!

Neat looking hen makova. Went out yesterday to have a look around. Seen a few birds, no gobbling but a couple toms strutting their stuff. Thought it was a little to cool out but I guess not. Stopped by a farm with my daughter to see if the birds are back roosting at their usual location in the spring. Got there at 6 and was able to watch them fly up to roost. They are comical to watch as they situate themselves on the limb. You wonder how they manage to stay up there without falling down.

2 longbeards, 2 jakes, 5 hens in the yard today.  Still have 45 days until opening day.  75 degrees today in PA.  Feels like May though.

Guns don't kill people.  Guns kill food.

Starting to get a little warmer out. Went out for a look last night and the birds are really starting to strut their stuff. I'm going to try and get some pic in the morning to share. Who knows, maybe one will want his pic taken. :icon_thumright:

Saw a few strutters today on my little 80 acre honey hole about 10 minutes from home.  One looks to be a 50-60 point class bird, possibly better.
