Had a great time hunting deer in the high country. We started out at 7500' and went up to 11,000. We came across this old cabin at 10,200'. It says Belfort CA 1880. We took a few pics. Here is a few pics of the high country as well. Eastern slopes of the sierras are beautiful. I also killed a nice little firked horn buck yesterday with my bow. 24 yards quartering away hard. Hit him back pretty far but it came out the opposite side of his neck. He went 70 yards and piled up. I'm beat. Those mountains kicked my butt.

Thought you might like a better look of this tree. It makes me look small.

Great pics Joe.  Love those old historic cabins like that.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.

Joe, what town were you near in the Sierras? I loved hunting those mountains.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
