I've been looking to switch from a 12ga to a 20ga. I've been eyeing up the Retay Gordion Turkey gun and a Franchi Affinity 3. Both seem to be great, and the price point that i'm looking for. I can't choose. I'm probably overthinking this, but it's basically coming down to barrel length. I've always shot a 24" barrel with my Benelli Nova. Franchi I can only get 26" and up, the Retay would have a 22" barrel. Let me know your thoughts or if anyone has every had their hands on either.

I have no experience whatsoever with the Retay but have been hunting the affinity 3 for 5 years now. I havent had any issues whatsoever and would recommend.

Appreciate the info, Del. Thank you.

I like the Franchis and have held but not hunted with the Retays.  Have heard good reviews from friends though.  If you really want that barrel length, I don't think you'll be disappointed going that route.

Having owned none of the aforementioned, my thoughts are just random.

But, do NOT discount the Super X4.  All the Super X series guns are about as much bang for the buck as you'll find.

The A300 is made, in part, in North Carolina in a friend's machine shop.  So, there's that.

But, a parting thought is.... Do you already have a lifetime supply of 20 gauge TSS loads bought ??   In the current "tungsten climate", it's beginning to occur to me that 12 gauges and lead Longbeard XR's may be about to make a huge comeback.  🫤
