I know a lot of you have collections of calls so this may be a hard question to answer.
Just being practical, how many calls would you have to rotate in and out of the vest?
How many pot calls and what surfaces?
How many box calls and what wood combos?
What other types of calls?

Very little rotation; I'm satisfied with what I carry. My decision is which caller I will employ and how I will employ it, which is greatly situational.

I carry 2 slates, 1 glass and rotate in a ceramic or titanium pot. 1 scratch box and a yelper or box call depending on what trips my trigger and sometimes a tube call.

I'm a box guy so I'll usually have two boxes with at least one being a longbox. I'll carry a pot or two as well. In the past it's been a slate and or crystal but I'll take Busters red slate/persimmon and old hen this year. Sometimes I'll also grab a peg and slate or scratch box too.

Weather plays a part in the calls I carry... Humidity, cold, rain and wind all dictate what's calls are in my rotation / satchel for opening day ... I always try to bring a different sound to the table / woods each year. This could be a trumpet. pot call and different style boxes along with gobbler sounds / yelper type calls ..

Very little rotation for me. I've landed on a small group of calls that just, flat-out, work and I stick with them most days.
1 box
1 slate/glass picked from 3 choices
1 or 2 strikers
1 or 2 diaphragms
1 trumpet picked from several.

I'm pretty stubborn and have had an attitude of "if they won't come to my mouth calls, they probably won't come to anything". That attitude has generally served me well, but last year I was proven wrong twice...once by a slate-surface pot and once by a box. Granted, I am a slow learner, but I am beginning to "get the picture" after a few decades of doing this.
Although I will continue to carry a dozen or so mouth calls of different persuasions again this spring, I am also sorting through a bunch of pots and boxes I have to determine which I will carry (and swear I will put to more use) this spring.

I constantly rotate calls throughout the season, I think it keeps the birds guessing especially in the same "coverts."
I change sounds..inflection, cadence, volume, ect, when actually calling, so why not change calls too, especially in the absence of success🤣
I have modified my vest to include individual dedicated pockets for two box call, two slates, three strikers, two yelpers, a scratch box, and one lonely mouth call which I never use. I don't necessarily use all the pockets but they are there if need be.
And, like Greg said, weather plays a major role in choosing friction style calls for any particular outing.
I'm a little call heavy I know, but for me the calls and calling is more than half the fun of turkey hunting.
