Well, new year. New models. Hoka still hasn't rolled out any and my lacrosse aren't in service anymore.

So what say yall! Plush insoles, waterproof, and....

Just need something that's snake proof and water something. What's the new and improved way of stalking the prey? Gotta go try some on

I wasn't expecting an all out flood of reviews, suggestions, or much else but nothing???......

Y'all are some serious hunters. Y'all running around Barefoot? I can see it being beneficial. Feeling the gobbles through your sensory nerves in your feet is next level! I imagine y'all slide through the forest like ghost!

Anyway. Going to try the twisted boots. Any input?

Tail Feathers

I bought some Twisted X hikers and they are very comfortable.  I bought my grandson some Twisted X work boots and he says they are the most comfortable he's had.
I haven't tried the snake boots, but the company seems to know how to make comfortable boots.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

I've had a pair of lacrosse alpha aerohead snake boots for a few years m. They are good if you like rubber boots. I wear them when it's wet or on relatively flat terrain. Not sure if they still make them.

I hear good things about the Lacrosse Alpha Agility.

Coming from them. They didn't stay waterproof and kill my feet. Wore them a while though and if they had a wide I'd look again!

I have the Lacrosse Alpha Agility and really like them.  My son-in-law just got a pair of the Alpha Lite II.  I really like the look of them but he hasn't got a chance to wear them.

I have a pair of Chippewa Discaro boots that I really like and that's saying something because I don't normally care for pull on type boots. They're not advertised as waterproof but I have crossed creeks and worn them in heavy dew and my feet have stayed dry.

If Elon Musk ever starts turkey hunting and gets wet feet and struck at by a snake we may see the invention of a "Magic" boot that does it all. Until then I think we are stuck with what we have.

I'm always on the fence about getting snake boots or gaiters due to the discomfort they cause. I have plantar fasciitis in both feet and none of the boots available work well with that issue. The gaiters like Turtle Skins are just too hot for me. Need a better mousetrap built!

I've been in the woods for almost 55 years without even seeing one close enough to strike and have rarely worn protection in all that time. The reality is there are about 8k bites per year and only 5 deaths. The majority of those are attributed to people handling them, not random strikes. Not saying it won't happen, but the odds are very slim for most of us.

I also have friends from South Africa and Australia who laugh at the thought of wearing them and they have absolute killers but wear shorts and hiking boots only in the bush.

Not trying to discourage anyone from getting them; just sharing my annual internal discussion on the topic for thought. You do you either way!

This will be my fourth year coming up in bc a pair of Chippewas Brahms. When they do wear out, I'll be getting some more.

I ordered the Lacrosse VenomII Wellington at the MWTF show blindly.  Arrived pretty quickly but I couldn't even get close to getting my foot in them.  Read afterwards this is not something new as many have had that issue.  Returned them and ordered the new Alpha Lite II snake boot.  Hope to have better luck with them!  First time ever owning snake boots.

Ditched the boots for this season and going with some dans snake gaiters. Much lighter, slightly cooler, and removable.

War Eagle

I still haven't found anything I like better than my Russell Moccasin Turkey Hunters. They're snakeproof but not 100% waterproof so not quite the best of both worlds but I've enjoyed them.
