I shoot TSS because it makes my 28 gauge a real turkey killer. As long as I can get it to load it, I will. But the old timer in me still has a 12 gauge set up for Longbeards, lol. Z

I also built a shot trap that catches most of the tss shot when testing loads.

Good article. I'm in my seventies now, and I leave my 12s behind in the safe. I just find hauling my 20s around more comfortable. I carry an O/U mostly, which allows me the option to shoot tss or lead depending on the distance. I cut the cost of tss shells down by rolling my own shells with the help of members' recipes on this forum. I built a "trap" for patterning and retrieving tss. Some turkey buds ask me why I roll my own. My reply is, "It's kinda like tying your own trout flies."
