How many still use gaffer tape?

I know many of you are getting into hydro dipping, buying turkey guns already camoed, but what about those with blued barrels, or even shiny barrels from the really old guns.

I've used different kinds of tape, and I finally settled on gaffer's tape several years ago.  Last year, I tried the athletic grip tape in camo, I don't wrap the stock, just the shiny parts, that tape didn't like the odd contours of the model 12, and I certainly didn't like trying to wrap almost the whole gun of the 1100 or A5.

I'm not much into the gun socks that slide over the whole gun.  A ghillie I use for the rifle, doesn't work well with carrying a gun for long distances, too much sliding for me.  I just don't think I want to rust blue my old guns, I'm supposed to purposely rust my guns, ummm, no.  It looks like it could work well, but .....

What else have y'all used that worked?

I've used camo tape on a bps upland for what seems like forever, worked great. I am unfamiliar with gaffers' tape, but it sounds like it works just as well for your purpose. I used to tape up the gun prior to season, then remove immediately after. Only concerns I ever had was getting caught in rain and getting moisture collecting under tape and causing rust.

Primos Gun Skin works and leaves no residue if you ever decide to remove it later...

Vet wrap can be used as well. Today with all the gun options seems silly not to have an at least matte finish turkey gun which is all you'd need.

I don't hunt with any new guns, I only carry my uncle's and dad's old guns.  Killing turkeys is fun, but carrying those memories means more to me at this stage.  The lightweight and carrying in the hand of the model 12, the heft of the 1100, the smallness of the receiver of the A5, just the way it carries and points.  Dad never turkey hunted with me, but we sure killed a many a ducks, quail and doves with our guns together.  It sure is nice having those two with me, even if it is in memories only.

I hunt an old 870 wingmaster magnum that was my Grandfathers. He rattle canned it back in the early 80's, just before I got it. Been touching it up as I go ever since. Allows you to match the gun to where ever you are hunting. Been many a gobbler killed with a plain blued shotgun, but it has been my experience dealing with turkeys that have seen it all, that something as simple as blending you gun, can make all the difference in the world, especially 3 week of season on.

I have used the kits from Mossy Oak graphics on a couple of mine and have been pleased with the results!
