Wingbones: do you prefer two or three bones?

As the title asks, 2 or three ---- Also, have you ever used the bones of two different turkeys and how did that work?

I "generally" prefer three bone calls, but there's nothing wrong with a good two-bone call.

For a good two-bone, it's best to use the ulna from a large gobbler and a radius from a young hen (or goose bone).

Don't forget about the 1 piece "minimalist" wing-bone call, it matches up perfectly for the non vest and satchel hunters.

The deluxe model comes with a lipstop, not sure if that's traditional, but it can always be removed.

I haven't thought of trying a goose bone with a young jake bone ------ hmm, that's an interesting combo.

But at least i have the decency to use flat wingbone style straws

A 2 piece can make a great sounding call, your hands are just more involved as the bell to get the best sound, same for the one piece

A two piece call is fine if the measurements are good. But a three piece wingbone just has a higher ceiling as to what it can do if all else is equal.

If you want to make a two piece; try to find a really large gobbler and you will usually get a rather large ulna from it to use for the bell of the call. Leave the ulna linger than you normally would. Then Try to get the smallest radius you can find for the top Mpiece.

EZ makes a fine call if you want to get one built.
