Quote from: Delmar ODonnell on Today at 12:33:55 AMCan't wait for this season gentlemen! My apologies for not being more active last year. In late April of 2024, I had a week that I can only hope of replicating one day, where everywhere I went, the turkeys were "right" and I had no mishaps. Well since then, everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. In May of '24, I had messes with two different rental cars in Colorado, one that lead to sleeping on the mountain in sub freezing temperatures, the other rolled over in a ditch. The following week, the front left tire of my truck sheered off going 60 down the highway when I was 3 hours from Mississippi on my way back home from a successful hunt in Michigan.Last year, with respect to turkeys, I could not hardly find a gobbling turkey anywhere I went across multiple states. Just bad timing. Despite that, it was enjoyable in a "gotta laugh at yourself for being snakebit" kinda way. Was able to kill a couple late in season in Mississippi, and one in Colorado. That was up until mid May went I went to the Indian reservation in North Dakota. Was able to kill 2 turkeys, but when I made it back to the rental car my last night, someone had busted out all the windows. I rented through Turo, and the host was kind, but it was an ordeal with both time and money. That didn't stop me from going to Utah Memorial Day weekend, where I ended the season on a miss, then found out I had scratched that rental on the mountain and the body shop was price gouging the host I somehow still have insurance, but hoping for a less stressful (and less finanically crippling lol) turkey season this year. I hope everyone is doing well and being safe in this weather. Essentially iced in here in North Mississippi. Can't wait to hear about y'alls plans this Spring!
