Mike was a great fella. He was instrumental in my growing passion for chasing those wily critters when I was in high school. He was getting going with designing pots for Primos/K&H/etc and gifted me a prototype and then a signed Alumislate. Man, I thought I was big stuff. I went out to where he was recording his Spittin'Feathers CDs and he played me what he'd recorded that morning. I was in awe & just soaked it all in. He just poured gas on the Turkey Fire inside me and it's only grown. We lost touch for a couple decades but we reconnected a couple years ago before I got married and talked for 45 minutes about those old times in the Lowcountry of SC many years before...it was like no time had passed. I'll never forget him and have a few calls in my vest that will most certainly remind me of him each spring. Prayers for his family and many thanks for the impact he left on me.
