Currently available non-TSS options?

What currently available factory load would you recommend for a 10-gauge that is NOT TSS? Interested in hearing the brand, shot size, and choke size.

As you've likely heard, TSS has gotten even more expensive recently. My backup/alternate gun is a SP-10 with a red dot and while it has a few TSS rounds left, after those are gone, I may consider another option.

My primary is a 20-gauge with #9 TSS. For pattern reliability and lethality, I will likely continue with TSS for both guns. I'm asking because I've heard about manufacturers fading out 10-gauge ammo and wondering what is still out there to use.

In a 10ga??? Basic heavy shot 6s or even lead 5s is plenty.

Never understood someone slinging tss out if a canon.

Usually a 20ga but as a back up you jump to a 10? Wouldn't take many tss shots to warrant a purchase of a cheap 20ga pump

Besides my shiny 12-gauge Beretta O/U that's more for wingshooting, the 10 is the only other shotgun I have. It was my original primary turkey gun.

Winchester Double X Magnum 5's with a Pure Gold .690 choke does well out of my Browning Gold 10. Good luck

Federal has the Grand Slams in 10 gauge. They use the flite control wad I believe. I have been meaning to pick up a box to try out for a while now, just been way too busy to get to it. Sumtoy makes a choke for the heavyweight federals that use this wad, it might be the ticket with the grand slams?

I saw rogers had magnum blends on sale.

SP10 is a gun i hunted w for years. It shot most everything good. The win xx supreme mags Tom recommended are a good choice but I think Winchester stopped with the mags. Not sure about in 10ga?
I'd think most good lead plated copper loads will work. If given a choice id go for load weight more than the high velocity nonsense.
All that being said, most 3-1/2" 12ga will throw a similar pattern. My ulti mag threw one more than close. Idk if you'd even need 3-1/2" anymore but it's actually good to see some older guns/ideas getting used. That gun is has been around enough to have a few stories behind it. Good luck w it and best of luck carrying that beast. Its got some weight

Thanks for the heads up. Just checked them out, that's a good price for sure. I have plenty of 10g turkey ammo, but these have me tempted. I love mag blends in my 12 gauges, they always pattern well for me. These should shoot very well in the 10 gauge.

Yes sir absolutley. They are great shells, have shot them in 10, 12 and 20. With the recent increase in tss prices I think i'm gonna order some more.
