Spring Creek Calls

Just about the end of the line for strawberries up here (MI) so I decided to add a few jars of freezer jam for the winter. Along with the peach jam done previously we should be all set until next harvest season. Now I have to figure out what to do with a tree full of pears that will be ripe in a few weeks.

All you need is some hot butter biscuits ... yummy

Impressive! I don't can but I gift some of my wife's friends with venison and they graciously send me their canned pickles, jams and salsa.

Never had pear butter, but pear preserves are a favorite of mine. In fact, the "P" word fruits I'm most fond of....Pears, Peaches, Pineapples...

My wife is in canning mode right now. Blackberries and muscadine grapes from the woods around our house that were made into jam and jelly. As well as tomatoes, red bell peppers, green beans, cucumbers, okra and garlic from our garden and our neighbors'.
