I finally got around to making a couple of trumpet yelpers for my son.  I have a drawer of trumpet blanks I set aside for him, and I decided to turn a couple for him.  Stabilized, curly spalted white Hawaiian Koa and mud-cured burl osage.

About all of the trumpet yelpers I'm building now I'm using 8-swirl German ebonite for the mouthpieces. I match up the colors in the ebonite with the wood I'm using to build the call. I really like the German ebonite. The ebonite stinks when you're drilling and turning it to high heaven, but you get use to it....LOL!!! The end result IMHO makes a really nice looking trumpet yelper.
