So I just bought a 11-87 20 gauge and I'm going to put a shur shot stock on it and a red dot, any other ideas to make it the ultimate gun. Thanks in advance

The trigger in my little 11-87 was hot garbage. A Timney 870 Trigger Fix spruced it right up.

This is my 870 build. Started out as youth with laminated stock. i found the shurshot stock set and had a guy here in Ga dip it for me.
Trigger does have some creep and is a little gritty feel but its a low lb pull so i never messed with that part . Its put more than a few in the truck for me.

Have you ever noticed it kicking you in the cheek? I shot one with rifle sights and it was kicking me in the cheek and talked to some guys with the same problem. Curious what's it's like with a red dot sight

In theory, the red dot would get your cheek up off the stock a bit more.

But I've never had that issue with any of my Remingtons, red dot or bead.

Ihuntoldschool

Never had any cheek slap shooting multiple different Remingtons. Most likely a gun fit issue.

Adding a red dot will most likely make felt recoil worse. Your cheek weld will suffer as you lift your head off stock.

To combat this, couple things. Mount as LOW to the receiver/bore as possible.

2nd, Consider adding cheek pad/ cheek riser.
