Kenny Morgan Frictionwood Reproductions

I started making Morgan Frictionwood reproductions fairly recently. I talked to the Morgan family and got their blessing to do this. I told Sally Morgan that I didn't want to make them unless the family was ok with it and she encouraged it and was happy that people still appreciated Kenny's work. I know I'm not the first to do reproductions as I know at least one did it before me. These calls are special and have gotten to the point where you rarely see them anymore.  Sally Morgan and I talked about how newer hunters don't have access to these calls due to them all being in collections. I have been working on them in my spare time for a little while now and have yet to let any leave the shop but I'm very close.  I don't know how many I will make, likely very few as I'm so busy with my trumpets calls, etc. Anyways, I just wanted to share this.

Thanks,
Seth Hamon

I like the way you are approaching this Seth, and think a limited run of them marked the way you are doing it is a nice tribute to Kenny as well as a way for some to get to experience and use that call design. I have used one with great results after seeing one in a friend's call bag years ago

That's awesome, I'd definitely like to have one of those. I've been having a lot of success with these "pocket size" friction calls. They are great closers, you can get as soft and quiet as you could ever want.

Love it and great work! I enjoyed reading Kenny's book!
