Pretty sure we aren't allowed to share data on here, but Ballistic Products or Lyman is a good starting point.

I'm not sure if we can share data but you got good advice. Look it up in a Lyman book. They'll give you all sorts of choices that are all safe. Don't ask some random poster what they think. You don't know if the load was tested

Ballistic Products Archives has a good recipe for heavy turkey load 3" using nickel-plated lead. I rolled #7s and they work great from "shoe top" out to 25 yards using a Trulock full or improved modified

I think I will look at 7.5s instead of 6s fo 25yds and under pentatrion really surprised me.

Agreed. If you are looking for 25 and under for the open barrel of a double, 7.5s would be a great choice.

I've got a pheasant load I've had tested if you want it message me. Pretty much same as golden pheasant. I use it for. 35 and under

You must be shooting different LBs than I have ,what i have shot is inconsistent junk.

I've only ever turkey hunted with 2 3/4" #6 lead ammo, but I limit my shots to 30 yards or less.  As far as load data, I've had much better luck with loads off the Hodgdon site than BP archives.

Thank you for your advice I will check it out,I have just never really got a huntable pattern from the Longbeard 5s or 6s.Maybe i just never found that combo that works.

I just picked up a second hand Beretta A300 20 ga last week, and I'm in the process of trying to find a choke/ammo combo for it.  As of this afternoon, my best pattern is with some old Remington 2 3/4 #6 duck and pheasant loads through a Primos Tight Wad choke.
I had high hopes for the Indian Creek .555 I got in the mail today, but so far, it's the worst patterning choke with all the loads I tried in it.
A Carlson Cremator LR .587 came with the gun, and it patterns fairly well with all the ammo I've tried.

If switching to 7.5 lead, the fiocchi field dynamics high velocity are pretty wicked
