Thats fantastic, congratulations! I know you are very proud of her. Way to go young lady.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, tired, beat, thoroughly used up and totally worn out from chasing turkeys and loudly proclaiming; "WOW -- What a Ride!"

Thank you everyone!. We're both riding the clouds still. She's proud of her turkey and I'm proud of her but the conversations with her during the hunt and after is what I'm most proud of out of her.
Right before he came out I could hear his feathers brushing up on stuff as he was coming in, she said "Daddy, I'm so scared, I don't know if I can hold the gun up, my hearts beating so fast". I told it's ok, enjoy that feeling because every turkey I've ever called in I have the same feeling. After she shot and we bear hugged and giggled about 5 minutes and we got her gobbler she said " I don't know what I'm feeling, I'm crying happy tears, I'm excited but still nervous. I'm sad because I killed him but I'm so happy I did. Dad, I know why you love it so much, hearing them when you call and seeing him come in is so cool, I want to do this every day!".
I told her that's exactly how I feel on every one, that I wish I could go up and pet them after the shot and say good game old friend and then they'd get up and walk off but you can't and killings a part of it. We had a talk about turkeys and I could tell she respects them and everything clicked in her mind.
She has walked a lot of miles over the years, yesterday we walked 980 yards in the rain, over and down two hills, across two creeks, she originally sat on a green briar and that's how she ended up in my lap. After she heard him gobble close and she got him, none of that mattered to her. She said it was all worth it and she'd do it again if she had to.
