I couldn't IMAGINE who.....

Yes, it's usually BS, but there are exceptions. Pre 2005 painted Doug Camp callers for example.

I do limited edition calls most years.  I tey to keep them as such.  I don't limit the number produced so much as the time.  For instance this year im building a set of "Redline" pot calls. I done 140 pots and when they're gone that's it.  Same was true on the past calls.
Nothing like seeing a kids eyes light up upon hearing that first gobble.

To be a limited edition they should be numbered in my opinion. Plastic Mike has a new limited edition every week it seems.

I bought into the very first LE one.  The one that looks like DIW.   That'll be enough for me.

When i got mine and it wasn't numbered i sold mine at a loss. They were supposed to have ivory too. That didn't happen either.

I was very surprised (taken aback) when I got my LE that it was of a "DIW-colored substance" and not wood.   I never saw or heard ANYWHERE during ordering that it was NOT actual DIW burl.

Kinda like Ralphie and his Ovaltine decoder pin.....

But, I won't turn this into any sort of a bashing thread.  Guys will buy what they want.   Guys will pass on what they don't want.   Pretty simple.

I will say.....  Both, my first-run black cherry and my "DIW" LE are both killer horns.

No taking that away.

I bought one of them also, it's alright, but not my favorite... I will not buy anymore of them.

Good rainy day call ...

It gulls me to think that companies and or individuals will try to make a dollar by taking advantage of and misleading people.

I thought we needed a little humor while we are gearing up and waiting for Spring Turkey season. It will be here before we know it!
Good luck and be safe this season!

The thing I notice most about this subject is that it seems like most of the "Real" Cadillac call builders do not offer LE calls. We all know who they are. Their calls are made with high quality, and nailed the sounds of the Wild Turkey. They are in demand because of this, and availability is scarce because they are so sought after. I'm am by no means suggesting that those makers who really offer a limited run of their calls are not in this "Elite" group, just my observation.

Great observation Tom and I believe you are correct.

Not just exactly.

Several names pop into my head immediately.  Names that EVERYONE would know.   Names that have ALL done LE call series.  Now....not saying everyone is aware that these fellows have offered LE calls.  But, they're all top-tier builders.

The one I'll name is the late, great Neil Cost.  He did NUMEROUS runs of LE calls.

Thank you Don, Neil is on the top of the Elite list for sure!
