Gobbling in PA !!

Was out in the dark this morning trying to get a coyote to do something stupid in front of me.

Hit the first howl on the FoxPro and the whole ridge behind me lit off with gobbling birds !!!

Looks like the wind is going to start winding down now, finally. For about two weeks there it was really cranking every day. Sucks when you're trying to cover as much ground with your ears as possible preseason!

Yeah.  The wind has been viscious. It laid down last night.  But it was 13° this morning, so.....

Usually, I'd have close to 3 solid weeks of morning recon by now.

I ain't been out, YET.

Was cruising the country roads tday. Saw 2 nice gobblers with about 13 hens. Hens were eating and the gobblers were being gobblers.

I think I have seen 4 roadkilled turkeys in the last 7 days.  At least 2 longbeards.  Another unidentified male.  And one "just a turkey".
