Anybody have any experience with these TSS loads...

Federal HEAVYWEIGHT TSS Flightcontrol Flex 12 Gauge Ammo 3.5" #8/10 Combo, 2 1/2oz

A local shop has a pretty good sale on them to make room for 2025 inventory.  I know the straight #7 or #9 TSS loads are probably the best option, but would anybody recommend these if the price was right, around $5.20/shell?

I never had good luck with the old Federal flight control wads, but these are supposed to be an improvement over those??

Thanks!

Don't gobble at me...

I was at the NWTF convention the first year that Flightcontral came out. The rep convinced me to purchase two boxes. I got home, scotched up agains the back of my shop and let one go at a target. It kicked so hard It made my fingers hurt and the side of my face where the stock was against my face. My son came out of the house. He was 19yo 6'1" and much tougher than the old man. Give it to me he said. Only took one for him as well. The last one I ever shot. Not sure if they still come with that solid wad like they did in the beginning but that solid wad will rock you.

I like my retinas to remain attached, which is why I load 1&5/8 in 12 gauge. ;)

I don't think these Flightcontrol Flex wads have the same design as the original Flightcontrol wads but I could be wrong.  I think Federal redesigned them so they could be shot out of more choke tubes unlike the original Flightcontrol wads.  I haven't shot a Federal shell in a longtime but saw these loads in the thread title on the cheap at a local shop... I've never shot a #8 or a #10 pellet from my 12ga.
