Sold for $275? That seems low to me.

Thoughts?

I agree Jim, the photos were very poor as well, it was hard to tell with they way they were cropped whether the paddle had multiple was heavily chipped. People underestimate the importance of good photos in selling turkey calls. Can't believe how many dark, blurry and cropped photos I see.

Yep.

Paddle appeared to be pretty wrecked.  Pig in a poke...

Bidenomics hasn't helped the call market either.  Most "garden variety" collectible box calls are off 50% or more from 5 years ago.

I did see the paddle looked ruff.  I thought it was worth a lil more.

Yoder I have noticed several calls go for less than previous years.  Your prob on to something there.

There's always periodic bubbles on a particular call that get huge, then burst.  Then on to the "next best thing".

But, 5 years ago, an Alabama Lynch 102 was $150-175 all day, every day.  Now they'll struggle to bring $85-$90.   Smith Sweet Butternut boxes were $60-$75.  Now, they'll sit, unsold, for $30 most times.

There's many, many,MANY more examples just like those.

All butternut - first call I bought myself. Guy at the store showed me how to yelp on it, gave me a couple pointers and off I went. Couple days later, big woods fall bird in the bag. Thought this turkey stuff was easy.  :z-dizzy:
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

It IS easy.  What you talkin' about ??   :TooFunny:

The Smith box calls are some of the best sounding production boxes ever made.  Folks (outside of Jim's local area) are beginning to discover that fact.

Hopefully trumpet will follow the same trajectory soon.
