No Upgrade

Hunted some public land this morning. Finally was able to get on three birds I heard gobbling at daylight. Found them in a corn field. Made it to the edge while they were free gobbling about 70 yds out. Called lightly but no response. They were not interested in my calling. One angled close enough so I pulled the trigger. Group of 2yos. He weighed 15.6lbs, 9.25" beard, 1" spurs. He scored 54.1 but I didn't take pics since he wasn't an upgrade. I still have one more tag.

Also was able to get my son on a bird during a youth hunt last Sunday. We found four birds that were more interested in a gobbler yelp than hen calls. My son hung in there and made a great shot right at noon. Just in time for the lunch that was provided. Lol
