6 Beards

Long day...
Started at daybreak, killed him at just after 2 PM.
Walked further and more than I can ever remember doing after having only one bird gobble in the morning.
All that walking, made it back to my quad, and got two birds responding... Ended up killing him less than 50 yards from the quad (which is nice, cause everything is uphill).
Was happy enough till I started counting beards! One large beard (just over 10 inches) and 5 smaller beards...
I have never even killed a double beard before today...
Did I do that?

Way to go! Great looking bird, congratulations.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, tired, beat, thoroughly used up and totally worn out from chasing turkeys and loudly proclaiming; "WOW -- What a Ride!"

Congrats, buddy! Beautiful gobbler. To quote Forrest..."They're like a box of chocolates...sometimes they're just nougat, and sometimes there's a cherry inside".
...Well, okay, that last part of the quote is mine...but fitting every once in a while when we walk up to a gobbler and find something like that...

Thank you all for the kind replies!
It was quite possibly one of the more frustrating turkey hunts I had been on... Until it wasn't....
Did I do that?
