Was running some box calls last night and I kept coming back to a few of my Bob Harwells calls, they are as good as gets.

I see people asking who to get custom calls from on here all the time but to be able to get a Cost style call from someone who learned from the man himself is where id recommend spending my money or for anyone that just wants to add a great caller to their collection he makes a damn good one.

I agree. I have a walnut and sassafras call that I got from Bob at Unicoi that's as good as it gets.

Yeah Bob doesn't checker anymore.  I have 9 of his boxes and they all turkey

Does anyone know if the calls Bob made of Bald Cypress form wood harvested in the Ocala forest in 1960's the ones that Brent Rogers is referencing in his book ?

 The cypress I have was cut from the Ocala Nat. forest in 1960. And I don't like to make cypress calls, but do make a few. I would be banned form this forum if I told you I think of working cypress with hand tools.

My first custom box call was from Bob.  Walnut and Butternut.  Great call from a very fine gentleman.  I have also ordered the same call for my son in law and a second, Walnut and Mahogany for me.  All are pure turkey.
