Been a rough year in my neck of the woods. Numbers are down and birds would not gobble, well they gobbled good from the end of January to the middle of March. I did manage to take a couple of two year olds, including my first
bird with a yelper. Our season closed yesterday and Sunday was my last day to get to hunt. I had a chance to punch my last tag, but I whiffed at 16 steps on an old warrior I had been hunting for the last 4 weeks. I only heard him gobble a total of 3 times this year and he didn't gobble at all Sunday. Made me sick and the worst part is having to think about what went wrong for the next 10.5 months.
