My buddy and I doubled on the morning of this hunt but that pales in comparison to the stories of the 2 hunters.
I'm the one in the wheelchair, this October will be 28 years since a treestand accident left me paralyzed from the chest down. My buddy suffered injuries in a treestand accident in 1999 that were so severe his doctors told him he'd never walk again. He can now walk with a cane but has no sensation from his knees down and he has difficulty keeping his balance.
The 2 of us have bonded since his accident as we can relate with the difficulties each of us go thru on a daily basis.
Yes we struggle when we hunt together but that's all part of playing the cards we were dealt. We have a blast hunting together and when we have a successful hunt the feeling is unreal.
This post was not made to brag or garner your pity but to show you how far determination can get you.
Both of us are blessed just to be able to hunt again!
