Man, I hate to hear that.  George looks like an easy going dude.

I lost a good one last week while I was out of town.  Tore my wife up pretty good.  Damn snake got her and I guess she'd been biten one too many times over the years.  She started getting better after the trip to the vet, then just went south and passed last Monday.

I lost my best buddy Max last year and it is tough for sure.  I still think about Max frequently and don't think I'll ever have another like him.  Think about the good times, it'll get easier before long.

RIP George.

Sorry abut that,
I have a yellow lab who is 13 and I dread the day it will happen.
He is truly my best friend and a good companion.

:jesus-cross: RIP George, it is so hard to let them go. All they ask is food, water and a pat on the head. In return you have the most loyal friend there is. Sorry for your loss.
Well put and so true. My beloved Greta, my Drathaar, is terminally ill and I dread the day when she's gone. The vet said if she's not in pain and can get around OK to put off the inevitable. Tears come to this 67 year old man's eyes when I ithink about it. Believe me when I say I feel your pain.
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!

I feel for you my friend. I am in the same situation now. My black lab is 16 years old and is almost deaf & part blind. I got him for my son Rick on his 15th birthday. Rick would have been 31 this Sept. Both his hips are bad but he can still get around somewhat. He just wanders around the neighborhood sometimes in a daze. I really dont think he is suffering or hurting bad but I just cant make the decision to put him down. He is truely my best friend. Sorry, I just had to vent.

  vaturkey :newmascot:                  RIP George   :jesus-cross:
My Shorthair is 15 1/2, and I was going to put her down because she was totally out of it mentally, but the Vet had me try a medication he recommended. That was 5 months ago, and her dementia is gone, and she is doing fine except for the old age isues with back, hearing and sight. Definitely a miracle drug for dogs.

Could you send me some of that medicine, Jay. I have all of those symptoms..Mike
Man, I said the same thing to my Vet. They can help Dogs, but not people?

Dang Billie, I hate to hear that about George.
