Here in New York in my area,I had been out 7 Times looking for the Big Ol Birds. I finally found out where they were Roosting and came back after 2 days out Pheasant Hunting.
I was standing and Hidden in a Treeline off a Field. The Turkeys were Roosted 30 yards away. The Brood Hen was Yelping up a Storm! Rebel Jakes were Roosted further away. A bunch of Half Gobbles coming from that area.
There had to be 3 Brood Hens and a good 20 or so young Turkeys. Maybe 3 or 4 Jakes and the rest Hens. The Hens flew down in front of me and,I picked 1 out and Boom. SO MANY HENS!
This Hen weighed 7lbs after Cleaning + Dressing. I had a Full Fan too-- one of the Brood Hens.
Happy to take this Plump Hen!  Now on once again to Pheasant Hunting.
