do some reading theirs lot good info  out their ,,, if going to cut a tree for blanks now is time do it before spring and sap and water start going in tree ,, as far as limbs they tend to crack warp pretty bad as their is lots tress in them,, cut your blanks over sized if wanted 7in cut 8 or 9  if 1 1/2 cut 2  some wood drys great others crack warp bad and if u want 2 blanks cut 3 in case one goes bad seal the ends and go up sides bout inch also  ,, when drying if u start see some slight end checking  on blanks drop little ca in them will help ,,,first 3 weeks or so air  dry slow ,, as for speeding the process for couple blanks can put them in dehydrator  just run couple hours a day but got keep eye on them
