In process of purchasing a black 26"  and sending to a company to be dipped and drilled and tapped for aBurris FF 3. Had everything lined up and asked my guy about current dipping charges which was fine and the cost to get drilled and tapped.  He paused and replied.  We have a gun here to be drilled and tapped and we mic'd the receiver.  Guess they had concerns - the owner notified them today the receiver on this new gun is too thin to be drilled and tapped for a mount.  I had been able to handle one of these  guns at a store last month and just really enjoyed handling it.  And was excited about getting one set up for turkey hunting.  Just curious if anyone else has come across this

I have a Benelli Cordoba,20 gauge. Fine gun. It is also to thin to be drilled and tapped.
You could consider a Aimpoint Micro S-1. These sight mount directly to the rib. No drilling required.

Thanks for the insight on the Cordoba. Can I ask who did your drill and tap.

Didn't send it anywhere. My buddy had everything that I needed to do it.

This isn't a sbe. It's a cordoba 3" gun.

Best turkey gun that I have. Shooting federal 1 5/8 oz tss #7. Sumtoy 562.5 choke, at 40.5 yards on rangefinder.

I looked up the Benelli SBE 3 on the web. The Preformance shop version done by Rob Roberts has a Burris FF3 mounted on the receiver. You can contact him on his web site, it shows he charges $40.00 per tapped hole and routinely does the work for Benelli. If he can do it others can too, check out Sumtoy.
