Well guys I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for being a WidowMaker this year.
We ended up with a score of
610.7
with only
9 birds
taken, that's not to bad.
I'd also like to
Congratulate Bobby Parks,
on a fine
77.625
double bearded bird that took 1st place in our
Best Bird
team contest, that was a dandy bird Bobby.
I hope to see all our team members back again next year for another spring season, it's been a fun one this year, my hats off to you guys.
I hope you all have a great summer and fall, and a short winter. We will be ready for another spring turkey hunt.
So long for now, WidowMakers Captain Scott.

Gentleman
I have thoroughly enjoyed being on this roster. Really nice to get to know some of you guys better. The birds some of you were killing was impressive....and the point average kept this interesting for not only us but others as well.....I think it was obvious that if we hit any kind of a 10th bird we'd have finished in a decent slot... this team has earned some respect...610 with 9 birds ain't bad at all.
As far as my bird...well it was simply plain luck and I backed right into it...knew I was after a good bird but no idea he was double bearded...I will admit I am thrilled to know I've got some great calls headed my way!!
Scott..thanks so much for spending the time needed to manage this group thru the season.. and thanks for the generosity with the calls /prizes...believe me they will be put to good use.
I hope we all stay in touch and next year will be here before you know it. Thanks again for having me on the team.
Respectfully
Bobby Parks

It was an honor and a privilege to be on this team with a great bunch of guys!
Although my season didn't end the way I would have liked, I was still part of a special hunt with a newbie and called in a jake over 200 yards to his ultimate demise. The look on my buddies face made getting up at 3 all worth it!
I called 3 nice birds to the gun for a couple of youth hunters(my son and a good friends daughter). The birds were headed away, and I was fortunate enough to be able to pull them back in. A shot was fired by the young lady, but unfortunately it was a miss. However, something happened that day that made me very proud of my Harrison. After his young friend took the shot, and it was obviously a miss, Harrison didn't take a shot at one of the gobblers standing there. He didn't want to score when his friend had missed. He also leaned over and told her he was sorry she missed. You go your life hoping that your child will do the right thing, and on that cool May morning, my son did.
The rest of my season was loaded with ups and downs. I had a gobbler hold up at 80 yards, and not budge further.
I had the same gobbler coming in a couple of days later, but he took a different path then his 2 lady friends, and I never saw him again that season.
I had to deal with public land hunters and thier somewhat strange tactics of walking field edges with headlights on, only to call like banchees then leave the woods at 5:30.
Another guy I like to call hoots for his seemingly relentless ability to blow on an owl hooter for miniutes on end, and 2 guys walking through a field I was hunting only to get to the other side and start calling immediately.
I had bad weather and coyotes like everyone else has to deal with, but in the end, it wasn't a horrible season. I didn't punch my tag, but I had fun and shared some great memories with really special people.
I hope you guys all have a great summer and fall. I'm moving on to cycling and baseball, and some much needed sleep!
Your teammate,

Yep, Had a great time this year even though I didn't score, there are some great turkey hunters on our team and I am proud to be a part of it. Learned so much and a special thanks to Captain Hembrook. He has taught me a lot and listening to your guys stories on harvesting your birds gets me all fired up and makes me want to do better. I love turkey hunting and am so glad I took the sport up. Everyone have a great summer and keep in touch. Scoot
