The farms I hunted in northern Missouri yo-yo'ed a lot this year. One farm was packed with birds during youth season, but they all packed up and left by opening day of regular season. Another farm was empty until the last two days of the season.
That could be the case as it was the 3rd week before I tried hunting there.
I spent the second week near Warsaw with the hordes from Mississippi. Those corp engineer areas get hammered.
But I have noticed a steady downhill on the amount of gobblers in the area the last few years. And have been told by a landowner/cattleman that he hasn't been seeing many. His grandsons killed 2 about 6 miles down river.
