I'm headed out to Wyoming and South Dakota this weekend and was curious what combos you seem to get the most responses with? Thanks

Spring Creek Calls

I would recommend the call you're most familiar with especially if it has a high front end.  For me, all walnut or bloodwood and Limba.

Albert Paul had a merriems box call from his 5 subspecies limited edition line. I believe it was Aspen and Walnut. Might give him a shout and see about it

I like a paddle call tuned a little higher pitched. Prefer a Cedar paddle over a poplar box .. Something that I can play soft or loud depending on the need at the time.

Dan Wittenberg lives and hunts out there.  That might explain his success with his cedar lid over butternut long box.  It plays just as you describe.
