I am looking to get a matched set of trumpets for my son and I in the near future and would like manufacturer recommendations.  I have a couple of Buice horns and love them, I talked to him last night and he is about a year out...

That being said, if you were looking for a hunting call, good quality, nothing overly flashy, matched set, who would you recommend.

I am not in a huge hurry as our season just went out...

Daryl Slaton is on the forum. He goes by Daryl. He has a fine looking blackwood horn on this page.

Have you thought of killing a bird and then having the wingbones made into 2 calls. Then y'all would have a pair from the same bird.

I think this is a neat option also!!! Plenty of good trumpet builders out there that can set you up as well and a few have already been mentioned. There is a guy on here that goes by LabsRusll that could set you up and you will like the price as well.

I have several of Billy's calls and he makes a great call for sure But the last time I talked to him he was gonna quit taking orders.  I wouldn't overlook Brian Mero and Greg Gwaltney as well.   Greg makes an awesome call for sure. I called in and killed a bird the very next day after receiving his call.  It been around my neck several mornings since.  Brian Mero makes a great sounding call as well.  Both are easy to run and very pleasing to the eye.  One of Brian's African Blackwood trumpets accounted for 2 birds this year.  Best wishes on your search.  They're several great trumpet makers out there I'm sure whoever you chose you and your son will enjoy them.

As of right now I am planning to have Mr. Stowe build us a matched set...

I would be interested in talking with Brian Mero...  Is he on the Forum?

Lewis is a great choice!!! Mero is on here but I am not sure how often he goes by mero calls or something similar. You can try searching it.

I have Brian Mero's contact if you'd like it.
